This is a fab recipe, the biscuits are lush and the dough is really easy to manage. The only thing I would say, is it does make loads and loads. I think next time I'd just need to do a half quantity.

Thank you for the recipe,
Gina

This is exactly what I've been looking for, the recipe is perfect! Baked them an hour ago and they are delicious. Made about 45-50 cookies of different shapes and sizes and still have plenty of dough left in the fridge!
Thank you so much and Merry Christmas!

This is a really lovely recipe, just what I was searching for. It makes a nice crisp cookie which holds a good shape. Thank you, Madalene.
I've used some tubes of ready made icing which I happened to have in the cupboard and I'd run out of icing sugar. The reindeer have red noses and holly and the Christmas trees have a garland line studded with tiny stars. My stars just have a spiral with a couple of silver balls stuck on, and angels have ruff collars. All quite simple. Some will be hung on the tree and some, without holes, I will pack for gifts.
I used half the quantity, incidentally, and have made about 85 biscuits! ( each about 5 - 7 cms).

Dear Anita,
The recipe you refer to make approximately 30 - 35 cookies with the star cutter with a diameter of 3".
Happy Baking,

Hello. These are lovely! I was looking for a simple way to be creative and festive. 2 questions: Can muscavado sugar be substituted w/brown sugar? Is golden syrup the same as corn syrup or treckle (spelling?) syrup? Oh,one more query: spices? Are we talking cinnamon, nutmeg, and/or cloves? Thank you Angela

Dear Angela,
The answers to your questions are:
1. Yes you can replace the muscavado sugar with dark brown sugar, that would be perfect.
2. Replace the golden syrup with corn syrup but not Treacle , it's too strong and dark for these cookies.
3. The spices is a mixture of ground ginger, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.
Happy baking!

These look really nice, but does anyone know how long you could leave them on the tree for and then still eat them?

Hi Faith, They keep all Christmas but I hang half of the batch and keep some in a air tight container so that you can replenish the ones that's been eaten. You must make sure you make the holes not too close to the edge as they will get softer and could break.Happy Baking!
