I used to buy fresh curd cheese from Neal's Yard Dairy (I think the supplier that used to make it has actually gone out of business?). Anyway, I do love fresh curd but it is very expensive so I will try to make my own when I am settled in my new home. I love fresh curd cheese in quiches or on top of a savory puff pastry tart. Yum. I have said it before but let me say it once again. I simply love your blog! It's one of my favorites!

Dear Suzan,

Thank you so much for the wonderful comments about the British Larder, I'm delighted that you enjoy reading it and I hope you do get round to make this wonderful curd cheese. You can make it with any kind of milk, cow, sheep, goat or as I did with Buffalo milk. The process is exactly the same, remember to buy full fat milk thought.

I know all to well about the ridiculous price curd cheese from Neils Yard. It's so much better to make it yourself, still expensive as the return is little for the amount of milk you use but not as pricey though. http://www.britishlarder.co.uk/neals-yard-goats-curd-marrow-bakes/

Enjoy your stay in Berlin and I hope that you find some marvelous food to share with us.

Happy curd making.

There are a few buffalo farms here in NZ but I've yet to find buffalo's milk on sale. I order some kolrabi seeds this weekend after your inspired suggestions last week - I am looking forward to experimenting with them. I am a total convert to the backyard pantry concept and looking forward to expanding our range of produce over the coming years. Not sure I'll ever get a buffalo but goats are a serious possibility as I love goats cheese.
