Hola! I made these, they were absolutely delicious and criminally moreish, one question though : my buns turned out somewhat darker (brown) that the ones in your picture… any idea as to why this would happen?

Regarding the bookmarks:

Try using post-it notes. They stay put and don’t mark the page. They also come in different sizes and colours. Simples!

Thanks for posting the adapted bun recipe, I had found it some time ago (New York Times, I think) but hadn’t got round to doing it. Raring to go for it this weekend once my orders are out for this week.

Hi.. Lizzies comment made me laugh..as I can imagine you and yours eating about 70 buns… the filling sounds similar to our pow buns that the Mauritians eat for snacks…the addition of the pickles is a good idea.. gonna try that… thanks for the video link… Grreat

I attempted these one Sunday and midway through a prove I went out with some friends, had a few beers and consequently forgot about them. Whoops. I must revisit it.

I seem to remember the recipe made LOADS of buns, did you half it down or did you eat the whole lot?
