I am so glad I don't eat all that processed food anymore. Having my own garden and feeding my family from it has been very healthy for us.

It's been rainy outside today and I have the day off from work. I made my way onto your site this morning and I can't pry myself away form your archives. I love your attention to detail. I'm expecting a new camera in the mail and I have some fresh blackberries to shoot for my first project in a long time. I've learned a lot from reading your blog and I thank you for sharing your knowledge of food and experiences in the kitchen.

I have a load of Black Prince and Nyagous tomatoes and have been looking for some different recipes...so ketchup it is!!
How long will it keep for and do you need to keep it in the fridge?

I keep mine in the fridge. However if you do sterilize the bottles or jars correctly and store the ketchup in a cool, dark and well ventilated space it should last for up to three months.

I think freezing it in small packets is perhaps a better bet, either way it should last for quite some time.

Really like the idea of a homemade ketchup. I've tried growing courgettes but mine haven't grown properly yet. That said I have been picking some of the baby courgettes and stuffing the attached flowers with ricotta and goats cheese and then frying them as you have. Lovely

Really pleased to have found your blog. Very envious of your courgette glut - most of ours are rotting off before they grow, although the handful that we have had are absolutely delicious.

Great to see someone else cooking organically (as well as growing of course). I tend to use Spelt flour for most of my baking, but haven't come across many others doing the same. Think I might have to try making tomato ketchup - chilli sauce I've done several years running as we often have a glut of chillies, but not tried tomato sauce (probably cos we never manage to grow successful tomatoes).
